AGI

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is all over the technology news now days. It is the one thing every AI company is working towards (at least claiming to be). If you think ChatGPT is super advanced, it is nothing in front of AGI in terms of capabilities. At first AGI seems like the big goal for any AI group of AI researchers so there must have been people trying to create it as long as people were working on Artificial Intelligence research. In that case, how did the quest for AGI influence AI research?

In order to answer this, I worked on an extensive proposal which led me to the book that defined AGI, robotics papers, neuroscience papers, and devices released within the last few years to answer this question! I wrote these in a way that someone who does not know much about such technology can also understand and will want to be involved in future discussions about the topic since we will hear more about AGI as time goes on.

Quotes

I love reading inspirational and insightful quotes so I wanted to make a place where I can consolidate my favorite ones and find new ones. This led me to make a webapp and an Android app.

Instagram Followers Checker

Instagram had this feature where you can see the people that follow you but you do not follow them back. However, they did not have the opposite: see who you follow but they do not follow you back. I set out to write a script for this in 2021. It was written in Java and required the user to Ctrl/Cmd-A the list of people they follow by going to their profile and opening up the following list and then putting that into a file that the program will read.

Then a few years later, I saw that you could download your data which included the lists of people that you follow and the people that follow you. I wrote a Python script that reads those JSON files (it was only 4 lines long!). A year after I wrote it, I used GitHub pages to host a frontend that would let other people use this program easily.

Recently, I saw that they changed the format of the files from JSON to HTML which is harder to process. I wrote a Python script the day I discovered this change and will update the website. Upon further research, I may switch to using React or Django if GitHub pages will let me host it.
